Some may have noticed I’ve taken a bit of an internet break lately. My absence has been due mostly to the trip I’ll be taking in just a couple of days – there’s a lot you have to take care of if you’re going to be gone for a month! Plus, Xeo being back in town for a weekend visit from Austin and lots of general life planning and friend-visiting.
Yesterday I had a meet up with wonderful designer friends and we had lots of coffee, laughs, driving around in the dreary weather, and some great finds…
Some friends of ours were having a tag sale and getting rid of some awesome pieces of furniture so all four of us walked away with some great buys – Keith walked away with a whole Range Rover full of great buys!!
We also visited Keith’s new studio and oh the way there we found this sculpture studio with these HUGE busts of presidents in the yard. Of course we had to stop and take photos!!
… And of course The Beatles. Plus there was this AMAZING tree made entirely of steel and fabric. It was so awesome.
And of course, because I can’t resist grey and lines… this beautiful pattern on the ground.
Besides that I’ve been watching a lot of Mad Men and drinking lots and lots and lots of coffee. The next time you’ll hear from me will probably be from California!
Talked to a friend whom I haven’t spoken to in a long time.
And decided on a whim to book a Change-Of-Scenery trip for a month.
It all happened so fast! The idea was presented to me by said friend, we looked up flight information, and then my AmEx was charged. Many who were recounted of these events were shocked by my spontaneity. I myself suffered a minor panic attack – this is why I don’t do spontaneous things! After a bout of “What was I thinking?!” I calmed down and thought: This is a good thing.
It just goes to show that even if we plan out every single little detail, we’re all still walking around blind-folded.
