THANK YOU to everyone who voted in the Big Bag Blitz. I’ve calculated the votes both on the site, email, facebook, and myspace… deliberated carefully and have chosen…. Well, the bag is arriving on Tuesday so I’ll do the ultimate revealing then. Don’t you just hate me? In other design news: I got a hair cut! Yes, another one this year already. I think BJ was a little shocked to see me again so soon too - he usually only sees me once a year and hassles me about how I should be better at upkeep. I will have to take a photo later but I love it and it’s short! I can’t decide if it makes me look my age or young.. I think a little from column A, a little from column B. BUT that is not what today’s entry is about. Even though I have some back up topics to blog about, I just wanted to take these couple of minutes before dashing off to my crazy Ba’s (that’s grandmother in Vietnamese…and three, and dad… depending on tone of course) for Mother’s Day to vent. After all, what good is a blog if you can’t vent?

So I had a package that I was in desperate need to get to England. It’s a long story, but basically I had a package that I needed to get to England ASAP! So I went to the UPS store bright and early today and after taking a long ass time checking the computer and weighing my package, Mr. UPS told me that it was going to cost $78 to get my package to England on Wednesday. Well, Wednesday was NOT going to cut it. I needed that package there by Monday or Tuesday at the very latest. I told him it could not wait that long and proceeded to gather my things to see if I could try some place else, but No! He held on to my stuff and proceeded to tell me about how I should have gotten the package to him yesterday and how he could have gotten me a good deal and how it would have gotten there on Monday but that it was too late now and no one was going to be able to get it there because of this plane and that plane and customs this and customs that and giving me a sales pitch that sounded incredibly like a lecture.

FIRSTLY! He did not know the circumstances of why I had the package, what it was for, why I was bringing it in today to get it mailed and why it needed to be in England so soon. He did not know how I busted my ass getting that shit together and the time sensitivity of it and how important it was. So I did not appreciate him and his, “Well you should have brought it in to me yesterday…” speech with that attitude. SECONDLY! If you cannot help me, that’s fine. Stop wasting my time!

I grabbed my stuff and went across the street to FedEx. Not only was Mr. FedEx 10 times nicer, he could get my package to it’s destination on Tuesday at noon (guaranteed) AND for almost half the price! I was in and out of there in no time and did not have to pay for an envelope. Needless to say, I will now be using FedEx for all of my postal needs and UPS should be sorry because I have plenty of postal needs! That sounds dirty… but you know what I mean. Shipping cookies to Norway aint cheap!

Thanks for letting me rant… I feel better and to top it off, some Turkish Delight. I like how it says on the package, “Full of Eastern Promise.”
