sunday morning

I’ve been working a lot, how about you? Not that I’m complaining … but “me” time is very important. Yesterday, during my lunch break - as I was scarfing down some food while inputting some drawings into the computer - R and I actually calculated the “me” time I actually had a day. Here’s a typical Monday in the life of Tiff:

We’ll start with 24 hours
- 9 hours for work (includes automatically assumed overtime on a good day, more on a busy day)
- 1 hours to get ready for work in the morning
- 1.5 hours approximately for travel time to and from work
- 1 hour for lunch
- 2.25 hours for French class (includes travel time from work to the Alliance Francaise and homework doing)
- .5 hours for MySpazing, etc. duties for Immi
- .75 hours for dinner
- .5 hours for misc. work that needs to be done, i.e. budget reports, paying bills, etc.
- 6.5 hours of sleep (this definitely needs to be more)
______________
That gives me a grand total of roughly 1 hours of ME time a day.

That’s time to write blogs, send emails, read books, and general me taking care of. I definitely think that number needs to be higher. There’s no more important resource than yourself, well.. except maybe diamonds, but I digress. This must be why Americans are so stressed out and why I had to yank out 5 white hairs from atop my head the other day (I know, I know… R says, “Don’t pull them out! For every one you pull out, 6 come to the funeral”). Is it too much to ask for a little more me time? When else will I be able to find the time to brutally criticize new music like the monstrosity that is Scarlett Johansson’s album?

Needless to say, the picture above is from the archives. I don’t even have time to take photos of feigned leisure! So how many hours of me time do you have?
